There is a rather unmitigated issue in the majority of Bulgarian schools: the practical experience in the curriculum is extremely insufficient. The Bulgarian Interplanetary Society wants to bring change to the established system by providing easily accessible opportunity for students aged 12-19 to complement their theoretical knowledge with real-world engineering projects.

We already earned the support of one of the most innovative aerospace organizations in Bulgaria– EnduroSat. The company will provide BGIS with experienced engineers and scientists, who will prepare challenges for the students, offer guidance, and evaluate the outcomes. We are happy to have attracted many successful people in the field to deliver lectures for the students: US Air Force pilot, who works for Lockheed Martin, a senior technical manager from the European Space Agency, and three professors from the Space Research and Technology Institute (part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences). In addition, the professors from the Space Institute will have workshops on the topic of processing satellite images.
